IBRAHIM ELECTRIC POWERED UP BY IPEK YOLU

27. OCTOBER 2022

Doors: 19:00 // Concert: 19:30 // Entrance: 130 DKK

THE HYBRIDS ARE COMING!

It is going to be a powerful night when turkis offers an evening full of musical crossroads and curls. We warmly welcome the hybrids and experiments, as the evening progresses with visits from two Danish constellations of international potency.

The big act of the night is the unruly jazz trio Ibrahim Electric who invites you to dance electric boogie on the Persian carpets with their desert rock and punk jazzy style. The group is backed up by local heroes of equally promising character, Ipek Yolu. A quartet that connects musical atmospheres from east and west in a funky and catchy way.

Join us and be a part of a joyful and hybrid night! Read more about the two acts here.

IBRAHIM ELECTRIC

In recent years, Ibrahim Electric has toured the world as one of the most popular jazz groups of Europe. The Danish trio is broadly acknowledged for their quirky, extroverted and provocative compositions - original music that sticks its fingers into just about every musical cookie jar. Together, Niclas Knudsen on guitar, Jeppe Tuxen on Hammond B3 and Stefan Pasborg on drums aren’t just three of the most talented instrumentalists of Scandinavia, they also constitute a playful and energetic side of hybrid jazz. With elements from old school soul-jazz, 60s acid power-beat and punk passages, Ibrahim Electric delivers unforgettable live experiences with musical skill and a perky smile.

IPEK YOLU

Ipek Yolu is the Turkish name for the Silk Road - the road that connected East and West - a beautiful symbol of the music that the band plays. The group quickly became noticed and made a name for themselves, both at their concert at Roskilde Festival - amongst others - and through a beautiful review in the international magazine Rolling Stone, in which Ipek Yolu’s debut album got 4 out of 5 stars. With new people in the crew, Orhan Özgur, Olaf Brinch, Frederik Emil Bülow and Malthe Jepsen now tests out the repertoire in contexts as afro, jazz, hiphop and psychedelia from Anatolia. The music is guaranteed to set the dance floor into motion when drum and bass grooves mixes with catchy Saz melodies and burning synthesizer solos.
