Epic and inventive afropsychedelia at turkis
Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness aka. BCUC is an internationally recognized band from Soweto in South Africa. Perhaps you were lucky enough to experience them at this year's Roskilde Festival? Regardless, you now have the unique possibility to (re)experience the unruly and infectious Afro-psychedelic band up close when they drop by turkis on October 24th.
When BCUC takes the stage, it's all about movement. Movement of sound waves, of bodies and of the collective consciousness. This is done through the band's candid lyrics in a multitude of different languages and through their punky and intense delivery of epic Afro fusions.
With the subtle and hard-hitting sound, the band focuses on the harsh realities of Soweto's vulnerable and voiceless. At the same time, BCUC's rhythmically driven music gives the indigenous people a contemporary voice, and the traditions of their ancestors a sense of urgency.
Despite the serious themes, BCUC still knows how to create both dynamics and momentum in their live performances, and it is no coincidence that the band has fascinated and seduced large audiences at home and abroad over the past decades. So come by and become part of the club when BCUC blows off the roof of turkis, for a moving and wild party.
