Transjoik med urfolksstemmer: The secret in our voice
Experience a rare and beautiful concert with the Norwegian jazz orchestra Transjoik together with a number of talented throat singers this evening at turkis!
PROGRAM
➤ Doors open: 19:00
➤ Concert: 20:00
Transjoik, the well-known Norwegian jazz/world band with over 20 years of experience, is hard to describe. What happens on stage when the musicians meet is always new and improvisational. At the same time, we somehow know exactly what we have in store; the special experience, the way they use their voices and let this play into the music, impresses us again and again. This time it is the duo Frode Fjellheim and Snorre Bjerck who take the lead together with partner Torbjørn Hillersøy on bass and Ronni Tekrø himself on guitar.
The musicians in Transjoik are always curious about new voices and have the whole world as catchment area, which gives the audience unique experiences. For this concert, they bring throat singers Radik Tyulyush (Huun Huur Tu) from Tuva, Yuliyana Krivoshapkina from Sakha/Yakutsia, Ulla Pirtijärvi from Sapmi, and Amaly Sallualuk and Akinisie Sivuarapik from Quebec - all with their unique vocal traditions of throat singing, joik and imitations of nature around them.
In addition to the musicians bringing their magic to this concert, Sandra Mozard from Sweden will complement it all with her graphic designs that take us to the northern regions and give the experience an extra dimension.
