Nordic tradition and new creations

Svaneborg Kardyb is a young jazz duo made of pianist Nikolaj Svaneborg and drummer Jonas Kardyb. Together, they make one of the newest and most talented constellations of the contemporary Danish jazz scene. With their charming and light musical expression, they have created a sound universe, perfect for both daydreaming and jazz clubbing.

After the release of Svaneborg Kardyb's album Knob in 2019, the song “Et Lite Øyeblikk Bare” made a big impression on their audience, and the magical Norwegian vocal was not to be missed. Therefore, the duo has now united with singer and songwriter Eline Hellerud Åsbakk and the musical playmate, bassist Christor Stangness, in a Danish-Norwegian companionship.

The award-winning vocalist Eline Hellerud Åsbakk comes from Tromsø in northern Norway. She creates music in a cool, Scandinavian landscape with inspiration from the hymns and folk tunes of the northern Norway and with great reference to the improvisational jazz. The lyrics revolve around restlessness and melancholy as well as spring and optimism, and in a straightforward and expressive universe, she takes the listener with her into the cold wild, and brings them safely back again.

On this evening, Eline's compositions will form the framework for the concert, although songs from the Svaneborg Kardyb repertoire will also be played. Here, Svaneborg Kardyb's atmospheric and groovy jazz is merged with Eline's Nordic melodies. It is going to be a fantastic evening with one of the most exciting Nordic collaborations at the moment!
