turkis invites you inside to a club night where the bond between the musical scenes in Denmark and Norway is strengthened. The initiatives Favorite Things and Jungelen team up with DJ Love Pump and create exciting universes as part of a growing international music family.
DJ Love Pump plays an explosive mix of kuduro, afro-house, baile funk, kizomba, afrobeats, amapiano and gqom. In the last year she has emerged on the international scene and is currently one of the most interesting DJs Norway has to offer. The Bergen-based DJ Love Pump was born in Portugal to Angolan parents, something that is clearly heard in her DJ sets inspired by club nights in Lisbon and Luanda.
Jungelen is a music collective led by Simon Alejandro, which organizes both club and concert series as well as a festival of the same name. Jungelen also belongs in Bergen, where they for more than 7 years have presented a wide range of local and international names. Here, the vision is to create a stage for music from cultures that are normally underrepresented in the Nordics. Jungelen has introduced a young audience in Bergen to everything from 70s soukous, semba and cumbia to modern hip-hop and jazz at club nights and festivals, with over 17,000 visitors since the start. There is therefore plenty of opportunity to discover new and exciting compositions.
