On May 27, Baryl will release their 2nd album "What the hell is going on?" and this will be celebrated with a release concert at turkis! The evening also offers a wonderful concert with the band Three waves standing still.

BARYL

What the hell is going on? It all falls over! I dream my self back to the time when we played in the field, says the award-winning vibraphonist and composer Viktoria Holde Søndergaard, who is behind the young jazz quartet Baryl.

Since their debut in 2021, the barylers have made their mark on the Danish jazz scene with fearless and playful original music. In an empathetic, dynamic and universal way, they relate to their contemporaries. Musically, they examine the contrast between tight compositions and completely free collective improvisations and approach all genres without prejudice. They have something on their mind.

Baryl released their debut album "Monday Already?" in 2021 and has since been the album of the week on P8-jazz. In the spring of 2022, they won the "Jazz competition" and since then have played sold-out concerts during Winterjazz 2023. Politiken wrote: "In ver few years, the Baryls may end up becoming one of the country's most sought-after groups. They are, in any case, laying the foundations for something really big."
