turkis plays Kalaha with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra
Fire will spark when the acclaimed electronic desert rock band Kalaha meets the 13 winds of Aarhus Jazz Orchestra at the crossroads between jazz improvisation, West African funk and electro rave for the release concert of their joint album.
The concert unfolds through a game between Kalaha's experimental, energetic and attitude-filled universe of Middle Eastern vibrations and powerful solo performances by some of the best jazz musicians of Denmark. As if this weren’t enough, the two bands bring along both Danish/Turkish singer Hilal Kaya and acclaimed conductor Jens Christian Chappe Jensen.
The 19 musicians will play brand new music written by Kalaha, Turkish folk songs in new, unheard versions and of course a selection of Kalaha's well-known songs such as "Özgürum Ben" and "Cok Küstüm" which have both been in rotation on national radio.
An overwhelming, sensual and powerful musical experience awaits you in a cozy and safe setting when turkis plays Kalaha with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra on 31 August. We look forward to seeing you here!
