Would you like to learn more about live sound engineering? Find some internships, get hired at several festivals, and concerts? Or just have the knowledge to run your own performances?
Then you should join us in Aarhus from April 21. - 23.
Aarhus Lydforening in collaboration with ROSA, DMF Aarhus, Women in Live Music, turkis and Radar Live is organising a project to raise women and gender minority involvement in live sound engineering and music technology.
Through the 3 days workshop you will:
- Have an introduction in live sound
- Talk about digital mixers, acoustics, mixing monitor, FOH, microphone placement
- Be a part of the Soundcheck process
- Talk about sound perceptions at concerts and the psychology of working with musicians
- Expand your network
- Meet different venues/bookers/ producers
- Exchange experiences
- And just be YOURSELF in our safe, open and friendly space
The project will be held in different venues in Aarhus. On the 23rd of April, the organizers also host a small discussion panel regarding gender challenges in this field. Besides the aim is to provide further support for suggestions for internships, job offers, and other workshops in the music technology field.
You don't need to be able to play instruments or know a lot about music beforehand. As long as you want to and are curious to learn something new, and just love music, you can participate and try yourself if you would like to dig into this field.
This project is mainly focused on young (16-35) female and non-binary persons all over Denmark who are interested in live sound engineering and music technology from any genre.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The price is just DKK 150. Lunch, snacks and concert tickets are included in the price. Find registration info here
