ZULI
Ahmed El Ghazoly aka ZULI, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and sound artist from Cairo, Egypt. Internationally, ZULI is best known for his releases on Lee Gamble’s UIQ – which included a string of EPs as well as his debut LP Terminal, an album that highlighted the depth in his productions, as he simultaneously combines experimentations in rap/hip-hop with music for listening as well as the dancefloor.
ZULI’s music garners support all over the board ranging from the likes of Aphex Twin and Autechre, to Ben UFO and Bradley Zero, even Richie Hawtin through its wide ranging sound. Most recently ZULI released a live album entitled “Digla Dive – Live” on the legendary Nashazphone, and has many new projects in the works including a live a/v show with Omar El Sadek.
GUIDO MÖBIUS
With the help of no more than his guitar, his voice, a trumpet and loads of effect pedals, Guido Möbius creates highly energetic music in between humour and hypnosis. In his live sets Möbius creates delicate links between experimentation, handmade techno, funk, polyrhythmic patterns, acid, weird noises and gospel music. At times, Möbius piles up loops of vocal-, trumpet- or guitar-sounds into a mighty drone whose gravity is interrupted abruptly by a driving beat or a gospel choir. It’s different every time.
GOLDEN DISKÓ SHIP
As Golden Diskó Ship, the Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Theresa Stroetges moves through the fringes of experimental music, but also explores the possibilities of tried and tested formulas. Her upcoming fifth album »Oval Sun Patch« is perhaps her catchiest to date. Drawing on influences from club culture and advanced electronic music, her unconventional pop sound is beat-driven, playful, atmospheric, and at times thoroughly anthemic. As an album about change, it concisely captures the multi-instrumentalist’s own artistic transformation.
