ALTER presents The Tubs and Visitor Kane at turkis!
Experience music incorporating elements of post-punk, traditional British folk and guitar jangle spiced with nonchalant pop hooks and modern Antipodean indie when The Tubs take the stage. First in the evening, Visitor Kane offers timeless and toned down music with nods to the 60's British Invasion and 80's worker rock and with a slight psychedelic twist.
ALTER is a new Aarhus-based festival for transgressive and adventurous music, sounds and art. Read more about ALTER here

THE TUBS
The Tubs consists of two parts Joanna Gruesome, one part Sniffany & The Nits and one part Ex-Vöid. Despite the three bands' sonic differences, there is a similar disruption at play in The Tubs' sound. The group's penchant for traditional British folk and the Canterbury folk rock scene takes a noticeable, caffeinated step forward on the album Dead Meat, where Williams' sharp lyrics make him reminiscent of a younger Richard Thompson (Fairport Convention).
These are pop tunes about lust, about South London and about mental illness. But if you think the songs give good advice or a special feeling of affirmation, think again. If anything, The Tubs are tired of the romanticization of mental illness. Williams explains: "Having a compulsive disorder which makes me go bonkers isn't my 'superpower' or whatever, it actually just makes me this irritating guy who smells."
The Tubs have never been more dynamic and they are ready to take over your stereo!

VISITOR KANE
Visitor Kane is a band in constant search of new territories. Over the past five years the band has gone through a number of changes, starting as a synth and drum machine based duo with the debut album 'Easy Concern' and then expanding into a quintet. The new set-up formed the basis for a new sonic starting point on the band's second album, 'Change of Heart', which is carried forward by hand-played drums, acoustic guitar and old Casio keyboards.
Now Visitor Kane is ready for new adventures with the album 'At Issue', which takes the form of a humble examination of an incomprehensible world.
