Look forward to a pleasant evening at turkis, when we will be visited by Blue Shadow Caravan, Damar and DJ Sabs, who will each fill the room with Balkan music in their own way!

At home, Balkan is often associated with wild wind sections, which at a furious pace make the audience let go of inhibitions and break out into wild dancing. But there is another side of Balkan music that cultivates longing, passion and love, where the lyricism and the melancholic mood are the supporting elements. It is this more heartfelt side of the Balkans that you will experience this evening at turkis.

BLUE SHADOW CARAVAN

Blue Shadow Caravan plays original songs that, with vocals and acoustic guitar at the center, conjure up an atmospheric universe that sounds south-eastern European, while the English lyrics point the way to something more familiar.

DAMAR

Damar is a band from Aarhus that plays Balkan music, where the focus is on the melancholic, melodic and atmospheric part of the expression. Damar plays a mixture of their own and traditional songs from the Balkans in interpretations that approach the original versions.

DJ SABS

When the bands are not playing, the sound side is provided by DJ Sabs, a seasoned communicator of music culture, who, with a stack of vinyls at hand, envelops the concert hall in melodious sounds from various corners of the Balkan peninsula.
