DJ Marcelle

DJ Marcelle is an exceptional DJ from The Netherlands with a vinyl collection containing over 20000 samples, and a curiosity leading her through everything from left-field techno, free jazz, and hip-hop to African dance, cutting edge electronica, and dancehall. Although DJ Marcelle has been collecting music longer than most of us have been alive, she is still a breath of fresh air within the international DJ scene.

As an artist, DJ Marcelle has a mischievous, rule-bending, and almost ironic approach to her DJing, as well as her producing and radio hosting – cut with her trademark wit, yet supported by an unquestionable amount of skill.

Well known for her three-turntable setup, DJ Marcelle composes live sets, colliding disparate genres, appropriated vocal snippets, and warped soundscapes into a giant Frankenstein-like melting pot. With a distinctive style of her own, she skillfully mixes strange sounds into collective and powerful memories, avoiding most DJ cliches and stale rules.

Drop by turkis and be a part of a wonderful night with good people, nice surroundings, and the legendary DJ Marcelle!

XTRA ACT FREDAG: DJ KUCHULU & WOURI

DJ KUCHULU

KUCHULU is a Copenhagen based DJ and producer. Sound is their way of expressing their delusions or dream worlds by creating temporary genre-bending sceneries in mixes and their own productions. Their projects are often about cultivating radical movements in Copenhagen nightlife, having politics, aggressive emotions and having a lot of fun at the forefront when DJing.

WOURI

Wouri is a French poet of Cameroonian origin, currently residing in Copenhagen. Without regard for common categories, Wouri's lyricism is infused with jazz, r'n'b/hip-hop, and West African music he grew up with. It is notably to the incantations of sun ra, to the verses of aimé césaire and of the beat poets, or to the makossa of manu dibango that Wouri forged his perspective of poetry – A way of being in the world, where creation serves as an awakening of beauty, consciousness, and wisdom, as a tool for struggle and change.
