Blåt lys
Dance Performance with Live Music
Imagine a dark room, a dance floor, and the silhouettes of two glowing figures. Before you, a couple dances in a close embrace. With each turn, the glowing skirt creates ethereal patterns in the darkness. Suddenly, the person next to you stands up and heads towards the dance floor. You might feel the urge to follow…

ABOUT SYLFIDE AND 'BLÅT LYS - EN BALINSTALLATION'
Sylfide invites you to the world premiere of the staged debut album Blåt lys. Experience Nordic folk dance in a new setting as ancient traditions meet LED dance costumes and UV light. This dance performance embraces a ball format where music, song, and dance merge, dissolving the boundaries between audience and performers.
The electroacoustic soundscape and crystalline vocals combine Nordic folk melodies with contemporary songwriting, enriched with elements of pop. The melodies are rooted in old dance tunes, elegantly wrapped in layers of synthesizers, strings, footstep sound effects, and enchanting harp sounds.
The lyrics draw from our shared cultural heritage and explore themes like climate grief, femininity, and mental vulnerability — all grounded in the past and with a view to the future.
"Sylfide's music should be part of the Danish school curriculum" - GAFFA
"This was one of the most innovative performances on the program" - Jyllandsposten
