Yasak Helva's debut release was featured on the Turkish psychedelic compilation album Saz Power, which was distributed in Europe, America, and Japan in 2018. They released their first album, Rektefe, in October 2019. Between 2020 and 2022, they released four singles, each rooted in different traditions and styles, such as Tuvan throat singing, rebetiko, Indo-European disco, and Reyhani dance music from Mardin.
