KRAUKA

Danish/Icelandic Krauka presents a unique fusion of folk music, roots/world music and Nordic Viking traditions. The lyrics are rooted in Nordic mythology and Icelandic song tradition, while flutes, strings, cello, Jew's harp, bass and drums create a very special magical and potent sound universe.

The group's original compositions and melodies often draw inspiration from old Nordic melodies and unfold in a fusion with intense grooves and rhythmic figures drawn from both north and south.

Since the start in 1999, Krauka has released 7 albums and played concerts in e.g. USA, Germany, Norway, Lithuania, Iceland and Denmark. On April 12, the band's 8th full-length album HEIMKOMA will be released on vinyl and streaming. Signed copies will of course be available for purchase at the concert.

VííK

The Norwegian powerhouse Elisabeth Vik has established her name with her project VÍÍK as one of the most captivating names on the contemporary Nordic folk music scene. Backed by a top team of Nordic musicians, VÍÍK's pan-Scandinavian folk and strong stage presence have taken several festivals by storm and brought the age-old roots of folk music to completely new listeners.

The love for the roots of music is combined with an infectious love for new horizons and adventures, and with this VÍÍK manages to build a bridge between past and present, but also between different Nordic traditions, which flow together in a present and organic interplay with the terrific musicians, that VÍÍK always manages to gather around her.

Both seasoned folk music listeners and fans of rock, jazz and world music can find exciting elements in VÍÍK's rich musical universe, which beckons to get together and celebrate with unadulterated joy of playing. With a magical twinkle in her eye, however, VÍÍK also likes to mesmerize the audience with her own robber stories - which must be said to be completely in the spirit of folk music!
