ÆVESTADEN

Ævestaden is a Swedish-Norwegian trio that combines traditional and modern folk music in a unique way. Their varying instrument combinations with lyres, violins, kantele, vocals, harmonica and electronics opens up a unique soundscape, where timeless harmonies and layers of minimalist motifs create an open and atmospheric world.

With their second album "Solen var bättre där" released in September 2023 on Supertraditional, they have cemented their place on the folk music scene. Their varied instrumentation and lyrics, which range from the mundane to the sacred, create an evocative soundscape. They have also collaborated with other bands and performed at various festivals and venues around Europe. Their upcoming album continues to explore themes of longing and is scheduled for release in September.
