Inspired by the vibrant life of electronic music, Opica’s artwork reflects the electric atmosphere of nightclubs and dance floors, where people come together to lose themselves in sound and movement. The use of bold colors and dynamic forms evokes the energy of a live performance, inviting viewers to feel the rhythm and immerse themselves in the experience. The interplay of light and shadow in his pieces mirrors the strobe lights and visual effects that characterize nightlife, creating a sense of depth and movement that draws the audience in.

OPICA

Opica is my solo project where I allow myself complete creative freedom – it's a framework for my own music and encompasses everything from completely free instrumental music to experimental electronic music. I play the cimbalom, tuba, and drums. In my electronic music, I work with Pure Data, a small modular setup, and anything else that can produce sound. At the moment, I’m working on music for a trio/quartet, where my focus is on cohesion, calmness, and attentiveness. The compositions are based on motifs from the cimbalom.

Since 2005, SPOR has worked ambitiously to present and promote the latest in sound and contemporary music – both nationally and internationally. The main activity is the annual SPOR Festival, taking place in May at a range of established venues and alternative locations around Aarhus.
