Join us for an intense and colorful musical journey as Mabe Fratti and Alto Aria takes the stage at turkis!
The 32-year-old cellist is an innovative storyteller with her instrument and voice. Her clear sensibility is the crowning jewel in a deeply professional wingspan of phlegmatic and colorful music, which, with goosebump-inducing precision, conveys small but powerful messages painted with nature and contrast motifs.
Alto Aria investigates relations between acoustic and electronic sounds with the point of departure of transformation and transition. A weaving of classical elements and modern electronic beats bound together by an aerial vocal.
The concert is presented in collaboration with Voxhall

MABE FRATTI
Originally from Guatemala, Fratti's early years were steeped in a concentrated diet of classical and Christian music as part of her upbringing in the Pentecostal Church. She was dedicated to mastering her craft's virtuosity until one day her father introduced her to the innovative and avant-garde styles of György Ligeti, which continue to influence parts of her music. Driven by her own curiosity, she also sought out Jacqueline du Pré and secretly explored pirated music online. All of this eventually led her to leave her homeland and move to Mexico, where she now has her professional base, collaborative playground, and self-study in genres such as reggae, blues, funk, and especially electro-ambiance.
Her latest release, "Kravitz," in a somewhat heavier section, reveals her range. The cello serves as a stadium-rock bass foundation on which Mabe reflects on not knowing where opinions come from, symbolized by the question of the chicken and the egg: Do they come from within, or are they absorbed from the surroundings? And who actually cares about opinions? Who really listens? Rock'n'roll rebel on vertical strings? Oh yes!
Expect a concert filled with intense intimacy and plenty of color! Note her selection of tiny pauses, moments of atonality, and sound contrasts. Audiences have described Mabe Fratti as fluid like the smoke of burning resin and someone who sets vibrations in the pupils—in other words, a Latin American river of warmth and life!
