EMIL DE WALL & GUSTAF LJUNGGREN

Curiosity and transformation tie together two of the most versatile figures on the Danish music scene, creating a symbiotic, ever-evolving musical expression. They’ve played together for 25 years on stages worldwide, from topping the Danish charts and appearing on TV shows to improvised noise concerts in China, always led by integrity and curiosity.

Ben Webster Award-winner Emil de Waal says:

“Gustaf is an absolutely wild musician! He can pick up any instrument and quickly find its core … maybe just with the exception of drums, which is my good luck ;-)"

Multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren adds:

“Emil and I are alike yet very different; as musicians and as people, we complete each other. We appreciate unique moments, big and small, that we’ll remember for a long time. And we are far from done with all we have yet to explore together!”

SANDLØBER

With heartfelt sounds and musical storytelling, the Aarhus-based band Sandløber invites you on a journey through expansive soundscapes. The band, consisting of Jacob Kaaberbøl, Mira Vistisen, Emil Als, and Thomas Pilkington, plays original instrumental music that speaks a language everyone can understand, drawing on Nordic jazz and the familiarity of traditional Danish songs.

“Sandløber was like a cohesive unit, each musician supporting the others in a solid groove, with a focus more on groove than swing as they delivered their version of the Nordic sound …
… Their strength lies in surprise—a fretless bass solo, an unexpected key change, or a melody line passed to another player."

– Magnus Møller, Sein Magasin on UnderSpot concert, May 4, 2024
