On March 26, Dawda Jobarteh with Strings is ready to kick off Music City Aarhus 2022 on turkis!

The Gambian-Danish kora player and singer Dawda Jobarteh has his roots in one of West Africa's most famous musical dynasties. With inspiration from both Gambian music traditions and experimental jazz, he is now an established international name, known for his multiple experiments with different musicians, genres, and musical cultures.

With his latest album ‘SOARING WILD LANDS’, Jobarteh plays with a more classical expression. Together with Admeta String Quartet, bass, and percussion, he creates a present and spellbinding universe where folk songs from the homeland meet new compositions.

The six are responsible for creating a beautiful evening in the spirit of musical meetings - nothing less than a perfect start to Music City Aarhus 2022. Come and join!
