Experience pure joy through music in the cozy, soft surroundings at turkis with two versions of modern jazz that intersect with other styles—music that will draw you in, inspire you to dive deeper, and make you want to move!

This evening, the record label Blikflak and turkis team up once again to present a double concert featuring two rising acts, Alberte Svenningsen & Udsyn.

JazzLab is a concert concept where Blikflak curates a lineup of artists who are either fully or partly rooted in jazz, blending it with expressions, traits, and moods from other genres and traditions. In this edition, two bands are presented, mixing traditional jazz with elements from Danish folk music, electronic, and cinematic music.

We promise two concerts of different but equally captivating nature!

ALBERTE SVENNINGSEN

Alberte's album Traneblæs was named Album of the Week on P8 in 2019, and she is now ready with the follow-up, with the release of the first single on November 1st. You'll get a sneak peek of the beautiful music awaiting next year from Alberte Svenningsen.

The music is airy and light, while being painted with a broad palette that captivates the listener from start to finish. Through Alberte’s lens, she shows how instrumental music can embrace themes such as nature, the changing seasons, family, self-reflection, and love.

In a playful Nordic soundscape, the musicians effortlessly weave around and with each other. A combination of tension and pleasant melodies makes this album accessible and engaging for all. Alberte leads with her alto saxophone, creating a floating sensation.

UDSYN

Udsyn moves fluidly within the jazz genre, borrowing elements from classical, electronic, and alternative styles, creating a cinematic soundscape inspired by minimalism and Nordic tonality.

The driving force behind Udsyn is the pursuit of creating organic atmospheres that you can feel and visually imagine. In a dynamic tension of harmony, intimacy, and dissonance, the group conveys perspectives on life through musical spaces and worlds you can lose yourself in, explore, and perhaps find meaning in.

In the performance, you can feel the individual curiosity of the musicians and their diverse backgrounds, which both escalate, challenge, and merge into a cohesive and harmonious whole, where acoustic and elegant tones meet electronic and distorted expressions.
